Prison Break’s 4th installment will bring back Sarah Wayne Callies on board as Dr. Sarah Tancredi. In an interview with E! Online, producer Matt Olmstead talked about their move and clarified some questions that have been hanging in the air since the shocking news was announced to the public.

For one, Olmstead said Callies will not portray the role of an evil twin sister. “No, she's the real deal. Sara Tancredi is back,” he said.

When Prison Break returns, time has already lapsed in the fictitious world. But Olmstead assured viewers that fans will get a good grip on what really happened to Tancredi as the story progresses. “Season four is jumping-forward, hit-the-ground-running storytelling. But we are dropping back, in flashback, and explaining how the characters got to where they are and the situation with her, certainly.”

Olmstead related that after Tancredi’s death sequence, they’ve been careful of the references they made to it and of who took credit for killing her. They were very cautious in discussing anything that has to do with her demise. “Ultimately, we came back after the strike to talk about season four, and that's when a bunch of things kind of came together, and we then had the big conversation. Is Sarah really alive and can we bring her back? And once we opened it up, it happened really quickly,” he added.

Asked on how Wenthworth took in the news, Olmstead said he hasn’t spoken with the actor yet. “Wentworth is abroad promoting the show and I sent him an email. I have yet to hear back from him, I'm sure he's going to very excited about it,” he said.

With Callies, Olmstead said he spoke with the actress first and told her of their plans for her character. “Sarah Wayne and I spoke, and I told her what I had in mind creatively, because what we have in mind is something she can definitely sink her teeth into creatively. So laying all that out to Sarah, the actress, she liked that, and so she slept on it, and then we made a deal.”About the Author:
