In his daily column at TV Guide, writer Michael Ausiello hinted on the possibility of a new narrator for NBC’s hit sci-fi series Heroes. Actor Sendhill Ramamurthy, who plays Mohinder Suresh on the show, is also the man who narrates every opening and closing of each episode. Ausiello wrote: “Someone may be moving in on Mohinder’s narrator turf. Tim Kring is said to be seeking an Australian Aboriginal actor in his fifties to appear in multiple episodes as a storyteller with great wisdom and a soft, soothing voice.”

Ramamurthy, native of Chicago , Illinois , discovered his love for acting during his college days. He was taking up a pre-med course at Tufts University at that time, all set to follow the footsteps of his parents who were both physicians. However, as a junior student, Ramamurthy was required to take an Intro into Acting subject before he could graduate. After performing for several school plays, he decided to shift his career goals. In 1999, he graduated from the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art.

He has since then appeared on various theatrical productions including A Servant of Two Masters, Indian Ink andEast is East. He has performed at the London ’s West End , the Soho Repertory Theatre and at the Manhattan Theatre Club. On TV, Ramamurthy was seen on shows Ellen, Gray’s Anatomy, Numb3rs, The Guiding Light and Casualty. On the big screen, he was part of movies like Blind Dating, Thanks to Gravity, Little India and Death, Deceit & Destiny Aboard the Orient Express.

In 2007, Ramamurthy auditioned for the role of Mohinder Suresh. Although the character was supposed to be a 55-year-old guy, the producers and the writers decided to rewrite the part after seeing his audition tape and screen tests. Heroes is Ramamurthy’s biggest project as of the meantime.

So far, there are no confirmations yet from NBC on whether Ramamurthy will really be replaced as a narrator. The actor hasn’t spoken about it either.About the Author:
